“What impressed me was that his measure was how he would make people have a good time and party”
Yiannis Zouganelis appeared on the air of the show “Connections” today, in order to talk about Vasilis Karras.
“Thank you for giving me the opportunity to speak about a prominent personality. Wherever he was he made friends. He was in the mood for sharing, solidarity. He was a folk poet, he wrote, he thought, what impressed me was that his measure was how he would make people have a good time and feast. A man with such an offer who did not communicate it to the outside,” said Yiannis Zouganelis initially.
Yiannis Zouganelis then said: “We met in 1991, we played together at a venue near the Thessaloniki airport. Our cooperation was perfect. At that time he was not widely known, but in Thessaloniki they knew him and he was loved, then he came to Athens and became known even outside the borders, everyone loved him very much.
When you see a person who is really a colleague in the whole process of life and not only in the coexistence on a music stage or on the tracks, the special weight of people should be discovered when they live. Sometimes when people leave, they idealize. Vassilis Karras was one of the exceptions, you can’t imagine”.
In closing, Yiannis Zouganelis said: “He loved children. He often put his head in the process of claiming things for them. It was a human case.”
