Delivered today – How they will be distributed
Seven ambulances were delivered today to the 2nd Health Region (YPE), which will cover critical needs of the North and South Aegean Health Centers.
More specifically, four ambulances intended for North Aegean PHC structures: Pyrgi Health Center (Chios), Mytilini Health Center, Kalloni Health Center and Polychnito Health Center and three ambulances for South Aegean PHC structures: Symi Health Center, Patmos Health Center and Tilos Regional Polyclinic. The contract project concerns a total cost of 511,599.2 euros.
It is recalled that since 2019, 27 mixed-volume ambulances have been acquired through NSRF for the needs of the North and South Health Centers Aegean.
The Deputy Minister of Health Irini Agapidaki was today at the facilities of the 2nd Ministry of Health of Piraeus & Aegean ahead of the delivery of the seven new ambulances.
“We are strengthening the Primary Health Care structures with an additional 7 new ambulances for the needs of the North and South Aegean Health Centers. Our ultimate goal is to upgrade and strengthen the structures of Primary Health Care so that citizens can enjoy quality health services and the health staff of the Health Centers have the means they need to take care of the health of our fellow citizens. In this context, we are upgrading the infrastructure in at least 156 Health Centers, renewing the medical technology equipment in all the Health Centers of the country, strengthening the Primary Health Care structures with additional ambulances and proceeding with the recruitment of 1375 positions for the staffing of the PPH and University structures. Health Centers”, said Mrs. Agapidaki.
For his part, the Commander of the 2nd Ministry of Health of Piraeus & Aegean, Christos Roilos, stated that since 2019, a total of 27 small-volume ambulances have been allocated to the health facilities of the Aegean islands, “which, by strengthening the EKAB fleet, contribute to the provision of quality services health to the residents and visitors of our islands, while creating a sense of security, satisfaction and trust in the National Health System”.
