What interested parties should know
April 29, 2024 was set by the Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance, Haris Theocharis, as the final date for the settlement debt settlementsduring his speech to the Economic Affairs Committee of the Parliament.
In arrangements, which based on the written provisions entail their loss, due to overdue unpaid installments, are credited:
- all payments that have been made or will be made, until the entry into force of the law, i.e. until its publication in the Government Gazette
- any outstanding tax refunds
Overdue interest
Based on the relevant provisions, a monthly late payment interest of 0.73% is calculated, on the capital of the overdue installment, for each month of delay until today or until the last installment of the arrangement, if the payment deadline has passed today. Also, a surcharge is calculated on the last or two last installments of the arrangement (depending on its type, 24/48 installments, 36/72 installments, 100 installments, 120 installments, etc.).
After crediting payments and any outstanding refunds:
- As long as all overdue installments of the arrangements are settled, the arrangement is now considered serviced and will not result in a loss
- If part of the overdue installments of the arrangements are settled, there is a loss for the remaining part thereof
As pointed out in an announcement by AADE, the loss of the arrangements will be done centrally and not by the debtor’s DOU.
Payment methods
The payment can only be made via web banking, in the Regulated Debt ID No possibility of payment via IRIS or card is provided.
