“It’s better that we didn’t have a child then with Zeta”
An interview on the web show of Alexandros Kopsialis on YouTube was given by Michalis Chatzigiannis. The well-known singer spoke to “Private Outcry”, looking back on his career in music, his first steps and the stages of his life.
“I was hit by 14-year-old Giorgos Dalaras outside a shop he had visited. I was singing outside and when he came out, he said to me: when you come to Athens, come and find me. I also remember that the day after I was discharged from the army, I had to fly to Athens in a hurry. He was waiting for me George Hatzinassios to say the title song in Soul Touch. He held it, “braked” it for a while, so to speak,” describes Michalis Hatzigiannis.
“My last night club collaboration was in 2009 with Onirama. I said this will be the last time I sing on bouzouki. Money was different then. Could an artist with the amounts given then say I’m stopping the song and still have a kavaza”, emphasizes the singer.
“I have never had a single operation on my vocal cords. This does not mean that the voice cannot be changed by many factors, first and foremost psychology and secondly, because as a musician I wanted to change techniques, I tried other things”, clarifies Michalis Hatzigiannis about the comments about his voice.
“Technique does not appear overnight. It is visible after 6 months what you have achieved. When you take a wrong path, which you will understand in a year or a year and a half, you have “stepped” on it. You have to figure out how to unravel that back. The change is also due to the psychological, the separation certainly played a big role”, he then confesses to Alexandros Kopsialis.
“We maintain very good contacts with Zeta. Better that we didn’t have a child then. Now I am thinking about having a child. I’ve heard everything about my sexuality, to the fact that I’m also very good at pole dancing. Everyone’s body is their property, it belongs to them and they have an inalienable right to use it as they see fit,” said Michalis Hatzigiannis at another point in the interview.
