The complainant intends to take the matter up to the Ministry of Education
A mother from Glyki Thesprotia reported the presence of worms in prepared food that was distributed last Friday, November 24 to elementary school students, among whom was her 6-year-old son.
As she explains in paramythia-online.gr, the relevant authorities were immediately informed, including the educational staff of the school and the municipal authority. The worms were found in wholemeal penne with tomato and vegetable sauce. The mother, who publicized the event through the local website, intends to file a complaint about the school lunch with worms to the Directorate of Primary Education of Thesprotia and the Ministry of Education.
In his statements, the mayor of Souli, Ioannis Karagiannis, characterizes the incident as unprecedented and expresses his strong dissatisfaction, calling for strict controls to prevent the recurrence of similar incidents. In particular, the mayor requested strict health checks and supervision of the companies that prepare food and feed elementary school students. The issue is expected to be examined by the education committee of the municipality of Souli.
