Lavrov: Difficult to Predict Duration of Israel-Iran Ceasefire

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that Moscow supports a ceasefire between Israel and Iran but expressed doubts about its duration.
In Russia's first reaction to the ceasefire agreement, Lavrov mentioned that it is difficult to draw definitive conclusions and form a clear picture of the situation.
"There are reports that the Americans persuaded Israel to agree to a ceasefire and reach an indefinite truce, that our Qatari friends played a similar role with regard to Tehran," Lavrov said.
Lavrov added that after the announcement of the ceasefire, there were reports of strikes and exchanges of fire between Israel and Iran, urging not to jump to conclusions.
Russia, which has signed a strategic partnership agreement with Iran, has condemned Israeli and American attacks on Iran as illegal and unjustified. Iran retaliated by hitting Israeli cities and an American military base in Qatar.
