Increase in tourist arrivals and revenue in Greece

A significant increase in tourist arrivals and revenue has been recorded in Greece, according to data from the Bank of Greece.
Specifically, in the first four months of the year, arrivals exceeded 4.12 million, an increase of 5.8% compared to the same period in 2024. Revenue increased by 10.6%, reaching 2.15 billion euros.
The increase in revenue is attributed to the strong performance in April, with a 17.4% increase compared to April 2024. The average expenditure per tourist increased by 4.4%.
Despite seismic activity in Santorini and a decrease in arrivals from France, the overall picture is positive, with increased arrivals from Germany (3.6%), the United Kingdom (41.5%), and the United States (26.9%).
The Bank of Greece's data does not include visitors arriving by cruise ships, suggesting that the actual number of arrivals is even higher.
The strengthening of Greek tourism indicates the successful extension of the tourist season.
