Relationships: Is it a matter of timing or character?

The popular theory that relationships depend on timing rather than choice is being challenged.
According to this theory, commitment is like a taxi that stops and picks up the next passenger, implying that everything depends on when someone is ready to commit, as if there is no choice or voice from the other side.
However, the reality is more complex. Although timing plays a role, commitment is not automatic. It depends on each person's maturity, experiences, fears, and desires.
Relationships are not just a matter of luck, but a conscious choice, intention, and emotional availability. They should not be influenced only by timing or the attractiveness of the 'first available taxi'.
Sometimes, the best option is to continue alone for a while, until you find the right 'vehicle' to reach your destination.
