Cypriot EU Presidency: Prevention of Cancellation Due to Lack of Equipment

The Tender Review Authority prevented the cancellation of the Cypriot EU presidency for the first half of 2026 by rejecting a request that could have delayed the procurement and installation of sound, image, conference, and interpretation systems.

The timely installation of the systems is crucial for conducting over 100 meetings, including 25 ministerial summits, at the Conference Center.

The lawyer of the Contracting Authority argued that the delay would cause damage to the Republic of Cyprus, as the equipment must be installed by mid-October 2025 for staff training.

The first meeting of the Cypriot presidency is scheduled for December 17, 2025.

The Review Authority decided not to grant interim measures suspending the signing of the contract, taking into account the public interest and the need to complete the tender.
