Fire on the outskirts of Paphos Forest under control

A forest fire that broke out on Sunday, June 22, 2025, at 12:35, on the outskirts of Paphos Forest, in the Symvoulas area of the Pomos community, has been brought under full control.
According to an announcement by the Department of Forests of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment, the fire was completely extinguished at 12:55.
The fire burned approximately half a decare of wild grass and low shrub vegetation. Ten people from the Department of Forests with three fire trucks participated in the extinguishing operation.
One fire truck remains in the area to deal with possible rekindling, while the causes of the fire are being investigated.
The area is considered high risk due to dense vegetation and inaccessible terrain. The contribution of preventive fire protection measures was significant.
