WNBA Players Demand Fair Pay with 'Pay Us What You Owe Us' Campaign

WNBA players protested the significant pay disparities between men's and women's basketball during the All-Star Game. They wore black t-shirts with the message 'Pay Us What You Owe Us', demanding salary increases.
This action comes as the WNBA and the players' union are negotiating a new Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). The players are seeking an increase in the revenue share they receive, which is currently only 25%, compared to the NBA where players receive 50%.
Caitlin Clark, although not participating in the All-Star Game, voiced her support for the negotiations, emphasizing the importance of increasing salaries as the league grows.
The highest contract in the WNBA is $249,000, while rookies receive $72,000, amounts significantly lower compared to men's basketball.
