U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance has asserted that there is "no conflict" with Secretary of State Marco Rubio, despite speculation about a potential rivalry in future presidential elections.

In an interview with Fox News, Vance emphasized the cooperation between the two men and the president. He avoided directly answering a question about the 2028 presidential election, saying he would address that issue "sometime in the future."

Rubio had stated in December 2025 that he would support Vance if he were a candidate. Meanwhile, it was announced that the two men will replace White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt during her maternity leave.

Donald Trump has also mentioned the possibility of running in 2028, despite the fact that the Constitution does not allow him to do so.

Vance reiterated that the media is trying to create conflict where none exists, emphasizing the great job that Rubio and the president are doing.
