Trump Criticizes New York Governor's Support for Mamdani

Donald Trump has criticized New York Governor Kathy Hochul for supporting candidate Zohran Mamdani, calling him a 'little communist'.

Trump expressed his concern via Truth Social, emphasizing that Washington would closely monitor the New York elections and questioned the purpose of wasting money.

Mamdani, a 33-year-old self-proclaimed 'socialist', is leading in the polls ahead of the November 4 elections. Hochul stated that combating the high cost of living is her priority and that the next mayor should not be willing to give in to Trump.

Trump has previously expressed interest in the New York elections, and in an interview with Fox News, he mentioned that Mamdani 'seems like he's going to win'.

There are reports that the current mayor, Eric Adams, facing corruption charges, may withdraw from the race in exchange for a position in the Trump administration, which he denies.
