Ohio Man Arrested for Threatening to Kill JD Vance

A 33-year-old man was arrested in Ohio, USA, on charges of threatening to kill U.S. Vice President JD Vance. Shannon Mathre was apprehended by Secret Service agents on Friday following an indictment by a grand jury.

According to the indictment, Mathre allegedly stated that he would use an M14 automatic weapon to kill Vance. During the investigation, authorities also discovered child sexual abuse material, which Mathre allegedly possessed and distributed.

Attorney General Pam Bondi stated, "You can hide behind a screen, but you can't hide from this Department of Justice."

This incident follows similar cases of threats against government officials, including the prosecution of a man who damaged JD Vance's home and the attempted assassination of Donald Trump in 2024.
