Will Lewis Resigns from The Washington Post

Will Lewis has resigned from his position as publisher and CEO of The Washington Post, weeks after mass layoffs at the newspaper.
In a message to staff, Lewis stated that "difficult decisions" were made to ensure the newspaper's sustainability. His resignation comes during a period of upheaval for the newspaper, which faces challenges similar to those experienced by other traditional media outlets in the United States.
The newspaper's CFO, Jeff D'Onofrio, will temporarily assume the duties of publisher and CEO. The Washington Post is owned by Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon.
Will Lewis had taken over as publisher and CEO in 2023, coming from Dow Jones & Company.
