New York: State of Emergency Due to Blizzard – Flight Cancellations

New York and New Jersey have declared a state of emergency due to a severe blizzard. The low temperatures are causing travel problems, and thousands of flights have been canceled at airports.
In Central Park, New York, the snow reached 11 centimeters, the highest level since January 2022. In other parts of the state, the snow reached up to 7.5 centimeters, according to the US National Weather Service (NWS).
Approximately 1,500 flights were canceled on Friday in the northeastern United States, while a total of 14,000 domestic flights were canceled nationwide by Saturday noon.
John F. Kennedy International, Newark Liberty International, and LaGuardia airports issued warnings about potential flight disruptions due to weather conditions. Flight delays were also reported in San Francisco and Orlando.
