Share on:

The siblings of Rene Guud, who was killed by an ICE agent in Minneapolis, testified before Congress, expressing their disappointment at the lack of meaningful changes in immigration enforcement practices following her death.

Luke Guanger, one of Guud's brothers, stated that the events on the streets of Minneapolis remain inexplicable, referring to raids and mass arrests of undocumented immigrants. He emphasized that these confrontations are changing communities and affecting many lives.

Brent Guanger, another brother of the deceased, emphasized the importance of small acts of kindness, quoting Tolkien, and stressed that these acts can help in overcoming difficulties.

Rene Guud, 37, was killed by bullets from an ICE agent while in her car during protests against immigration police operations.

A few days after Guud's death, Alex Pretti was also killed in Minneapolis by gunfire from border police agents, sparking reactions and intensifying the conflict between local and federal authorities.
