An 8-year-old student has been identified as one of the victims of a shooting at a Catholic school in Minneapolis. Fletcher Merkel and a 10-year-old were killed when 23-year-old Robin Westman opened fire.

The shooter, Robin Westman, fired from the church windows, also injuring at least 18 people, mostly children. Westman then committed suicide.

Fletcher's father, Jessie Merkel, called the shooter a 'coward' and expressed gratitude for those who helped contain the tragedy. Authorities are investigating the shooter's motives, who reportedly had an obsession with killing children.

Police found 116 rifle bullets at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
