At least 17 people have died in the US due to the severe winter storm Fern, which has caused flight cancellations, power outages, and dangerous icy conditions. The storm is also affecting Canada.

In many areas of the US, snow accumulation exceeds 60 centimeters, reaching up to 80 centimeters in some cases. The snowfall has led to school closures and flight cancellations. Over 4,400 flights were canceled or delayed on Monday, and approximately 800,000 households remained without power.

Authorities are warning citizens to avoid travel and drive slowly, as thousands of roads have been closed due to ice and snow.

In Canada, Toronto has also been affected by the storm, with flight cancellations and school closures. Ontario police reported approximately 200 collisions and 150 calls for drivers stuck in the snow.
