US: Domestic Flights Reduced Due to Government Shutdown

Domestic flights in the US are gradually decreasing due to the ongoing government shutdown. The Secretary of Transportation warns of drastic reductions, with more than 1,400 flights already canceled, according to Flightaware.

Sean Duffy, speaking on Fox News, stated that routes could be reduced by up to 10% by Friday. The lack of political agreement in Congress has led to a fiscal paralysis, with hundreds of thousands of federal employees, including air traffic controllers, working without pay.

The Democrats accuse the Trump administration of political maneuvering, while Chuck Schumer claims that the reduction in flights is a scam. Sean Duffy responded that Chuck Schumer is playing political games by maintaining the paralysis.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has asked companies to reduce domestic flights, while international flights have not been affected.
