The United States will screen over 55 million visa holders to determine if they have violated the terms of their stay in the country. Visas will be revoked if there is evidence of illegal residency, criminal activity, or a threat to public safety.

According to the U.S. State Department, visa holders will be subject to "continuous monitoring." The announcement follows a statement by Secretary of State Marco Rubio regarding the immediate halt of work visa issuance for truck drivers.

As part of a broader review, prospective students and visitors to the U.S. will be screened for social media posts. Authorities will be looking for indications of hostility towards the citizens, culture, government, and fundamental principles of the United States.

Matthew Tragesser, a spokesperson for U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, stated that "America's benefits should not be given to those who despise the country and promote anti-American ideologies."
