USA: Two Dead in Shooting at South Carolina University

Two people were killed and one injured in a shooting at a dormitory of South Carolina State University, an institution primarily serving African Americans. The incident occurred at 9:15 PM (local time) in the Hugine Suites dormitory.
University officials confirmed a campus-wide curfew was imposed following the shooting. Classes were canceled for Friday, February 13th.
This is the second deadly incident at Hugine Suites in recent months. In October 2025, 19-year-old Jaliyah Butler was killed by gunfire during homecoming celebrations.
President Alexander Conyers has emphasized that student safety is a top priority.
