US: Request to Halt ICE Operations in Minneapolis Rejected

A judge has rejected a request for a temporary restraining order to halt Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations in Minneapolis. The decision follows a lawsuit by state officials accusing federal agents of civil rights violations.
Judge Kate Menendez acknowledged the "deep and painful consequences" of immigration agents' tactics, including shootings and racial profiling. However, she ruled that the arguments were insufficient to issue a temporary order, also citing a recent reversal by a federal appeals court.
The lawsuit aimed to restrict a Department of Homeland Security operation. Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey expressed disappointment, while US Attorney General Pam Bondi welcomed the decision.
