US: Deportation of 5-Year-Old Liam from Ecuador?

The US Department of Homeland Security is seeking to deport a 5-year-old boy, Liam Conejo Ramos, from Ecuador. Liam was arrested in Minnesota last month.

The family's lawyer, Danielle Molliver, called the decision "unusual" and potentially "vindictive." In contrast, department spokeswoman Tricia McLaughlin stated that these are "standard deportation procedures."

Liam and his father, Adrian Conejo Arias, had legally entered the US as asylum seekers. They were held at an ICE facility in Dilley, Texas, and released on January 31 after a court order. They then returned to Minnesota.
