US: ICE Officer Fatally Shoots Woman in Minneapolis

An officer with the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) fatally shot a 37-year-old woman during an operation in Minneapolis. The incident occurred amid increased federal law enforcement operations in the city.

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey condemned the increased presence of federal forces, stating that the operation is "causing chaos" and demanded ICE withdraw. Senator Tina Smith confirmed the deceased was an American citizen.

The Department of Homeland Security stated the shooting occurred when "rioters" obstructed ICE agents and a driver attempted to "run over" officers. The ICE officer, fearing for his life, fired preemptively. The incident is under investigation.
