Diddy's Legal Team Seeks Presidential Pardon from Trump

Rapper Diddy's legal team has confirmed that they have contacted former US President Donald Trump seeking a presidential pardon ahead of his sentencing in October.
Diddy was found guilty on July 2nd in New York on two counts of transporting individuals for the purpose of prostitution, while he was acquitted of charges of racketeering and human trafficking. He remains in custody and has unsuccessfully attempted to be released on bail.
His lawyer, Nicole Westmoreland, told CNN that discussions have taken place regarding a pardon. Trump had stated in May that he would consider the facts if he believed Diddy had been wronged. Diddy's sentencing is expected to be announced on October 3rd, and he faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.
