CBS: Drone Dispute Shut Down El Paso Airport

El Paso airport was shut down due to disagreements between the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the Pentagon regarding drone interception system tests, according to CBS.
The Pentagon planned tests at Camp Bliss, near the airport. The tests involved high-energy lasers. The FAA, headed by Brian Bedford, closed the airspace without notifying the White House or the Pentagon.
The NOTAM stipulated a ban on flights below 18,000 feet for 10 days, with a warning to shoot down violators. The ban was lifted after a discussion in Suzie Wiles' office at the White House.
Meanwhile, anti-drone technology on the US-Mexico border shot down a party balloon.
