New Jersey Officer Ignored Double Murder Call for Pizza

A New Jersey police officer is facing charges for dereliction of duty after allegedly ignoring a call about gunshots, which turned out to be a double murder, and instead stopping at an ATM and later a pizza parlor.
The incident occurred on August 1st in Franklin Township, New Jersey, while Kevin Bolaro was on duty. He received a call reporting gunshots and screams but did not immediately respond.
According to GPS data and surveillance footage, Bolaro drove approximately 2.2 miles in the opposite direction of the reported shooting towards an ATM. He then proceeded to a pizza parlor where he remained for nearly an hour.
The next day, the bodies of a 33-year-old woman and a 29-year-old man were discovered in a home near the location of the initial call. The victims had been shot by a state trooper who later committed suicide.
Bolaro is charged with official misconduct and tampering with public records, as he falsely stated in his report that he investigated the incident for a longer period than he actually did. He is scheduled to appear in court on November 5th.
