Idaho: 20-Year-Old Kills Firefighters – 'Going Hunting' Post

In Idaho, USA, 20-year-old Wes Rohli has been identified as the perpetrator of a deadly ambush on firefighters. Rohli started a forest fire and then opened fire, killing two and injuring one. He was found dead a few hours later, likely by suicide.
According to Sheriff Robert Norris, Rohli deliberately started the fire and ambushed the firefighting team. Hours before the attack, he posted a photo in military attire with ammunition, accompanied by Björk's song "I’m Going Hunting."
Rohli, who was homeless in the Coeur d’Alene area, had minimal contact with the law. The attack reignites concerns about gun violence in the USA, where more than 16,000 people have been killed by shootings in 2024, according to the Gun Violence Archive.
