Yemen: Ship Hit by Unknown Projectile, UKMTO Reports

A ship was hit by an unknown projectile off the coast of Yemen, according to the British agency UKMTO. The incident occurred 116 nautical miles east of Aden, causing a fire.
The UKMTO announced that authorities are investigating the incident. Simultaneously, the maritime security company Ambrey reported that a Cameroonian-flagged tanker issued a distress signal after an explosion 60 nautical miles south of Ash Shihr in Yemen.
The crew of the tanker, which had sailed from Oman bound for Djibouti, intends to abandon the ship. A search and rescue operation has been launched.
Ambrey noted that the ship's profile does not match those targeted by the Houthis in Yemen, who have launched attacks against ships they believe are linked to Israel.
