Hezbollah Threatens War in Lebanon Over Disarmament
Share on:

Beirut's decision to disarm Hezbollah has led to increasing tensions, with the organization threatening civil war. This move, supported by the US, the West, and Arab states, aims to remove Hezbollah's weapons, something the organization seems unwilling to accept.

Hezbollah has reportedly strengthened its forces after the war with Israel, finding new ways of funding through Turkey. Beirut tried to persuade the organization to disarm peacefully, but Hezbollah seems more interested in promoting Iran's agenda.

Following Hezbollah's withdrawal from national reconciliation efforts, the patience of the Lebanese is running out. The organization provokes in various ways, threatening to drag the country into civil war. The visit of Ali Larijani, senior advisor to Ali Khamenei, to Beirut after the disarmament decision, signals Iran's support for Hezbollah.

Hezbollah has been limited to marches by its supporters and road blockades, but the question is whether these actions will lead to an armed confrontation. Many Shiites in the Bekaa Valley have also reacted to the organization's tutelage.
