Pope Leo XIV Hopes Gaza Plan Yields Desired Results

Pope Leo XIV has expressed hope that the plan to end the war in Gaza will soon bring the 'desired results.' Speaking during his weekly Angelus prayer, he called on all parties involved to commit to the peace process, stressing the need to end the conflict and achieve a 'just and lasting peace.'
The Pope reiterated calls for a permanent ceasefire and the release of hostages. He also praised the 20-point plan of US President Donald Trump for Gaza, expressing hope that Hamas would support it.
Pope Leo XIV, the first pope from the United States, was elected in May and has shown greater attention to expressing his opposition to the conflict in Gaza compared to his predecessor.
