More than 250,000 Palestinians have left Gaza City, according to the Israeli army (IDF). This estimate comes after the IDF called on residents of the western districts to evacuate for their safety.

According to Avichay Adraee, the Arabic-speaking spokesperson for the Israeli army, the evacuation was carried out for security reasons. The UN estimates that approximately 1 million Palestinians live in and around Gaza City, the largest urban center in the area.

Israeli forces have intensified their military operations, aiming to control Gaza City, which they consider a stronghold of Hamas. Many residential buildings have been destroyed, as the army states it will intensify targeted strikes to destroy terrorist infrastructure.

The Civil Defense Service of the Gaza Strip reported that five Palestinians were killed by Israeli bombings.

Humanitarian organizations are expressing concerns about the displacement of Palestinians to the southern part of the Gaza Strip, calling it impossible and dangerous.
