UN: Hope for Ending the Crisis in Gaza

The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Türk, described the peace plan for Gaza as a "critical opportunity" to end the crisis.

Volker Türk expressed hope that the momentum to end the war would lead to a lasting ceasefire, reconstruction, and a two-state solution, in accordance with international human rights.

He stressed the need for action in good faith by all parties, humanitarian assistance, and the release of hostages and prisoners.

The World Health Organization also welcomed the peace plan, with Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus emphasizing that "the best medicine is peace."
