UN: 6,000 Trucks with Food Blocked Outside Gaza

The UN has 6,000 trucks with food blocked outside Gaza, ready to enter, announced the head of UNRWA, Philippe Lazzarini.
Lazzarini stressed the need for humanitarian aid to be transported via land routes, emphasizing that airdrops are 100 times more expensive and less effective.
Israel has slightly eased the blockade it imposed, causing shortages of food, medicine and essential supplies. The distribution of aid has been assigned to the Humanitarian Fund for Gaza (GHF), with the international community refusing to cooperate.
According to Cogat, 100-200 trucks have been entering Gaza in recent days, while the UN estimates that at least 500 trucks per day are needed. Since May 19, only 260 of the 2,010 trucks have arrived without obstacles.
Lazzarini recalled that during the ceasefire, the UN secured the entry of 500-600 trucks per day, reaching the entire population of Gaza safely. He called for a return to this effective practice.
