Iran conducted a display of missile and naval power in the Indian Ocean and the Sea of Oman, amid diplomatic tensions with the West. The Iranian navy completed the "Sustainable Power 1404" exercise, testing domestically produced cruise missiles and other weapons systems.

According to Tasnim news agency, the exercise involved submarines, drones, and coastal batteries, while simulating a clash with a technologically superior adversary, such as Israel and the USA. Three types of anti-ship cruise missiles were launched: Qader, Qadir, and Nasir.

Simultaneously, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps conducted a surprise missile exercise. Senior commanders warned that any miscalculation would provoke a response that would cause regret.

On the diplomatic front, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi spoke with European counterparts regarding the UN's "snapback" mechanism, warning of consequences if it is activated.

According to Al Monitor, Iran is pursuing a dual strategy of military escalation for deterrence and diplomatic engagement on its own terms.
