UNSC Members Except US: Gaza Famine is a 'Man-Made Crisis'

Fourteen members of the UN Security Council, excluding the US, issued a joint statement expressing deep dismay at the famine in Gaza, calling it a 'man-made crisis'.
In their statement, the members call for an immediate ceasefire, the release of all Hamas hostages, and the lifting of all restrictions by Israel on the provision of humanitarian aid. They point out that at least 41,000 children are at increased risk of death from malnutrition by June 2026.
Furthermore, they express concern about the expansion of the famine to the Deir al-Balah and Khan Yunis regions, with 1.5 million people facing a food crisis and 132,000 children at risk of acute malnutrition.
The members of the Security Council emphasize the need to address the humanitarian crisis immediately and stress that the use of starvation as a weapon of war is prohibited under international law.
