Morocco: Protests at Tangier Port Against Arms Shipments to Israel

Thousands of protesters blocked the port of Tangier in Morocco, reacting to the potential use of the port for transporting weapons to Israel. Protesters accuse the Moroccan government of supporting Israeli operations in Gaza.
The protests follow weeks of demonstrations at Tanger Med, with protesters denouncing the government's cooperation with Israel. Eight port employees resigned in protest. Moroccan authorities have not commented on the protests.
Morocco normalized relations with Israel in 2020 through the Abraham Accords, in exchange for US recognition of Morocco's claim to Western Sahara. The agreement has drawn criticism from pro-Palestinian groups.
Additionally, it is reported that fans of Raja Casablanca are actively supporting the Palestinian cause.
