Macron Warns of 'Occupation' Risk in Lebanon

French President Emmanuel Macron has expressed concerns about the risk of an 'occupation' of Lebanon, in an indirect warning to Israel regarding its military operations in the region. The statements were made during the inauguration of an exhibition dedicated to the ancient city of Byblos at the Arab World Institute (IMA) in Paris.
Macron emphasized that 'No occupation, no form of colonialism, neither here, nor in the West Bank, nor elsewhere, can guarantee anyone's security,' in the presence of Lebanese Minister of Culture, Ghassan Salameh.
The exhibition, titled 'Byblos, Ancient City,' showcases the history of Byblos, a Mediterranean city considered one of the oldest ports in the world, inhabited since 6,900 BC. It includes approximately 400 exhibits, mainly from Lebanon.
Despite the challenges posed by the current situation, the exhibition was held with the hope of conveying a message of peace and highlighting the cultural heritage of Lebanon.
The new president of the IMA, Anne-Claire Legendre, praised the realization of the exhibition despite the difficulties.
