Lebanon: New Fatalities in Israeli Raids Despite Ceasefire

Despite the agreed-upon ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah, three people were killed in Israeli raids in southern Lebanon. The Israeli army announced it had killed three Hezbollah members in strikes on Sunday. Beirut also confirmed three deaths from the raids.
According to a statement, the Israeli army claimed that Hezbollah members were involved in efforts to restore infrastructure, violating the November 2024 ceasefire agreement. Two of them were killed in the Yater and Bint Jbeil areas, while a third was killed in the Jouaiya area, allegedly handling agents in the Lebanese security forces.
The Lebanese Ministry of Health reported three deaths from Israeli strikes in the Yater, Al Batikh, and Jouaiya areas. Despite the ceasefire, Israel carries out almost daily strikes in Lebanon, targeting Hezbollah members and infrastructure.
The US is pressuring Beirut to disarm Hezbollah and dry up its sources of funding. Hezbollah leader Naim Qassem has rejected the prospect of disarmament, stressing that his faction will not allow Israel to achieve its goal.
