Israeli forces intercepted the "Global Sumud Flotilla" (GSF) attempting to break the naval blockade of Gaza. Israel stated it halted "several ships" without causing damage, transferring those onboard to an Israeli port.

The GSF mission reported lost communication with multiple ships and alleged an "illegal attack against unarmed workers." Activists claimed they were surrounded by Israeli warships. Palestinian Hamas called the interception a "crime of piracy."

MEP Rima Hassan accused Israel of "illegally" arresting hundreds of mission members. Greta Thunberg and Mandla Mandela participated in the flotilla.

Colombian President Gustavo Petro expelled Israel's diplomatic delegation, while the Turkish Foreign Ministry accused Israel of a "terrorist act." French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot called on Israeli authorities to guarantee the "safety of participants."

Protests occurred in Italy against the interception.
