US approves $151.8M bomb sale to Israel amid Iran tensions

The State Department has approved a potential sale of 12,000 BLU-110A/B bombs, weighing 470 kg each, to Israel for an estimated $151.8 million.
According to the State Department, the sale will improve Israel's ability to counter existing and future threats and serve as a deterrent to regional threats. Repkon USA will be the prime contractor.
The U.S. Secretary of State provided a detailed justification for the emergency sale to Israel, citing U.S. national security interests.
“This proposed sale will support the foreign policy and national security of the United States by improving the security of a strategic partner which has been, and continues to be, an important force for political stability and economic progress in the Middle East.”
