Iran: Funerals Begin for Those Killed in War with Israel

Funerals have begun in Iran for the victims of the recent clashes with Israel. State television broadcast images from Tehran, where crowds held Iranian flags and photos of the soldiers killed.
The American president warned that the US would launch new strikes against Iran if it continues its uranium enrichment program. The US had bombed three Iranian nuclear facilities on June 21-22, supporting the Israeli attack on June 13.
Several senior officers and nuclear scientists were killed in the Israeli bombings. Iranian authorities are honoring their memory with public funerals. Mohsen Mahmoudi, a religious official, stated that the day will be historic.
Iranian media broadcast images from the ceremonies, with coffins draped in Iranian flags and photos of the commanders. The funeral procession started from the University of Tehran and will end at Freedom Square.
