Iran: Investigation into 20 Arrested for Ties to Israel

The Iranian judiciary has launched investigations into 20 individuals recently arrested on suspicion of having ties to Israel. The Iranian counter-intelligence service announced the arrests on July 28.
The detainees are allegedly "spies, active and auxiliary agents of Mossad," the Israeli intelligence service. The cases are under the supervision of investigators, according to Iranian judiciary spokesman Asghar Jahangir.
The two countries were involved in a 12-day war in June, with airstrikes and exchanges of missile attacks. After the end of hostilities, Tehran promised expedited trials for those who cooperated with Israel. Since then, numerous arrests and executions for espionage have been announced.
On Wednesday, Rouzbeh Vadi was executed after being convicted of spying for Israel. He was accused of providing information about a scientist killed during the war.
