Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has called for an immediate halt to what he described as the US and Israel's 'attack' in order to end the war and broader conflict in the region. The statement was made in a post by the Iranian embassy in India on X.

Pezeshkian spoke by phone with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stressing the need for guarantees to prevent a recurrence of such an 'attack' in the future. He also called on the BRICS group to play an independent role in stopping the attack against Iran.

The Iranian president proposed a regional security framework involving West Asian countries to ensure peace without external intervention. In a separate post, Modi condemned attacks on critical infrastructure in the Middle East and reiterated the importance of freedom of navigation and the safety of sea lanes.
