Iraq: Attack on US Embassy in Baghdad – Two Dead

An attack targeted the US Embassy in Baghdad following two airstrikes in the Iraqi capital against an armed organization. The strikes resulted in two deaths, including a "significant figure" in the organization's leadership, according to security sources.
Iraq is increasingly becoming a battlefield, with armed groups affiliated with Tehran claiming responsibility for attacks against American military and oil installations. These groups are also targeted by airstrikes attributed to US or Israeli forces.
A journalist from *Agence France-Presse* reported seeing smoke rising from the US Embassy in Baghdad's Green Zone. A senior Iraqi security official reported a drone attack, while another official said the attack involved rockets, one of which landed on the embassy's helicopter pad.
This is the second attack against the embassy since the start of the war in the Middle East. It followed two airstrikes against the Hezbollah Brigades, resulting in the deaths of two members.
A missile struck a house used as an office by the Hezbollah Brigades in the Arasat district, killing a "significant figure" and wounding two others. Approximately two hours later, an airstrike targeted a car near a bridge in eastern Baghdad, killing the occupant, who was a member of the Hezbollah Brigades.
The Hezbollah Brigades are reportedly part of the "Islamic Resistance in Iraq," which claims responsibility for attacks against bases hosting American and other Western military personnel in Iraq and the Middle East.
