Drone Attack on Military Base at Baghdad Airport

A drone attack targeted a military base at Baghdad International Airport late at night. The base had recently housed troops from the US-led international coalition fighting jihadists.

According to security forces officials, a drone crashed outside the perimeter wall, hitting warehouses and temporary structures, causing a fire.

Since the start of the war between the US and Israel against Iran, pro-Iranian Iraqi groups have launched attacks against American troops in Iraq and the Middle East.
