One Killed in Israeli Strike in Southern Lebanon

One person was killed in an Israeli airstrike on a community in southern Lebanon, the Lebanese Ministry of Health reported. The Israeli military claimed it struck a member of Hezbollah.
The incident occurred despite a ceasefire that was supposed to have ended hostilities in November 2024. Israel continues to carry out near-daily bombings in Lebanon, mainly in the south, and maintains troops in five areas of Lebanese territory.
The Lebanese Ministry of Health spoke of an "attack by the Israeli enemy" in At Tiri, resulting in the death of one person. The Israeli army reported that it had hit a "Hezbollah terrorist" in the area.
In early January, the Lebanese army announced the completion of the first phase of its plan to disarm Hezbollah, south of the Litani River. The Lebanese government is expected to discuss the latest information regarding the disarmament plan at its meeting on Monday.
Israel considers the Lebanese army's efforts insufficient, while Hezbollah refuses to surrender its weapons. Approximately 370 people have been killed by Israeli military operations since the ceasefire.
