Second Ship Hit in Strait of Hormuz in One Day

A second ship has been hit in the Strait of Hormuz, near Oman, by a projectile of unknown origin, according to UKMTO. The incident occurred 50 kilometers north of Oman and east of the strait. The ship was hit above the waterline.
Earlier, it was reported that the ship's engine room had caught fire, but the fire has been brought under control. Authorities are investigating the cause of the incident.
This is the second incident of the day. Previously, Iran struck an oil tanker, the “Skylight”, flagged in Palau, approximately five nautical miles off the coast of Oman. Four sailors were injured, and the crew evacuated the ship.
Dozens of ships, including tankers carrying crude oil and LNG, have anchored in the Gulf, following strikes by the US and Israel against Iran.
