Egypt, Qatar, and US Promote 60-Day Ceasefire Plan in Gaza

Egypt, Qatar, and the United States are working together to achieve a 60-day ceasefire in Gaza, according to Egyptian Foreign Minister Badre Abdelati.
At a press conference in Cairo, Abdelati stated that the three countries are working on the initial proposal which includes a 60-day ceasefire, the release of hostages and Palestinian prisoners, and the unimpeded provision of humanitarian and medical assistance to Gaza.
Contacts are underway with Hamas and Israel, based on an American plan. A new proposal envisions the release of all hostages in one phase.
The war began on October 7, 2023, with the Hamas attack on Israel.
